Restore Estopia
This is a blog about my cancelled project, RestoreEstopia.
Project Overview
I want to announce the closing of this project. It will still be fully available on GitHub with a docker version available as well. I made this to compete with a discord bot website called RestoreCord since they have been involved in a lot of scam and virus discord servers. I wanted to make a bot that you could trust that has the same functionality since RestoreCord was the only option. I feel like the bot currently has enough features that a server could use it if they were willing to self host it, but I have moved onto other projects within Estopia Engineering.
Project Highlights
- Easy to use: I used simple slash commands built into discord to help the users understand what every command does and make it simpler to use.
- Ticket Support: If you want to manually verify each user that applies while also checking they are in the verified list.
- Docker Support: A easy to setup docker container is also available.
What I learned
This project helped me learn and understand:
- Basic JavaScript Development: I enhanced my already existing skills in this field.
- Backend Development: having to work with discord’s API for authenticating users.
- Docker Support: I learned how to structure a DockerFile. This has helped me in other projects that have used Docker and Discord’s API such as my backend for Estopia Chatting.
Challenges and Solutions
Discord’s API Using Discord’s API for authentication of users.
Issue: I initially struggled with implementing functionality for adding users to a server.
Solution: By thoroughly reviewing Discord’s API documentation, I identified the correct paths and methods to make this possible.

Future Plans
I currently do not have any plans moving forward with this bot since I have moved on to Estopia Chat, but I may still fix bugs reported on the GitHub.
Conclusion
RestoreEstopia was created to provide a reliable alternative to RestoreCord, with a focus on trust and user-friendliness. While this project has reached its conclusion. I am proud of the skills I’ve gained and the features it can offer for the servers willing to self-host it.
