I take apps apartand rebuild them.

I'm Jay Brammeld, a full-stack developer. I've written two Grindr clients from scratch, taken apart Stagecoach's bus app, and I run Estopia Engineering, which builds software for clients.

NativeGrind

A from-scratch SwiftUI Grindr client for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Vision Pro, all from one codebase. Shared logic lives in its own Swift package, secrets live in the Keychain, and an optional TypeScript server added encrypted sync between devices. The source for both is now private, available on request.

Free Grind

The first one: an open-source, ad-free client that runs one Tauri codebase on macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS. The interface is React; the networking is Rust, built to match the official app's TLS fingerprint so the API accepts it.

  • Real-time chat with images, video, voice and albums
  • Video calls and push notifications
  • A map-based location picker
  • Now kept alive in a community fork

Estopia Engineering

My registered software company, set up in January 2026. It builds production software for clients. Its own products run on Estopia Backend: one modular API that serves several of them from a single codebase.
